Cecily Glowik’s fitted flyaway cardi, well suited to a variety of body types, beautifully combines the no-nonsense practicality of a raglan sweater with the come-hither curvaceousness of lace. worked in “Soft Chunky” from Twinkle by Wenlan/ Classic Elite Yarns, it’s knit flat from the lace portion up through the stockinette bodice until the arm hole bind-off. From there, sleeves are worked in the round and joined to the main piece, at which point the yoke is knit circularly completing the raglan shaping. The button bands are picked up and knit in the finishing. Featured in Vogue Knitting Winter 2008/09
