Question by anonymous: How do you pick up cast on stitches??!!?
This is the pattern, I just started on them and am kind of new to knitting so I dont understand the pattern when it states to pick up CO sts, is it refering to the “cast on”row or the previous row?? someone please help me =)

Question by Mensch: Doubling yarn is giving me a headache.?
I have a knitting pattern that calls for the use of 17ga knitting needles, which will be used with a super bulky yarn. Problem: I’m allergic to most sheep’s wool (save merino) and all alpaca, cashmere, et cetera yarns are hardly ever sold in chunky-super bulky weight yarns without wool.

Question by moody mare: i need help to know which crochet hook to use for a garment plz help?
i want to crochet a cardigan but my pattern use’s artesano aran which is 50% alpaca and 50% merino wool and tell’s you to use a 5.50mm hook and i want to use dk cotton 100% on the label it tells you to use 4mm knitting needles im just wondering if it would be the same for a crochet hook.please help. Thanks.

Question by ari: knitting pattern question.. please help?
This ribbed scarf is a fairly quick knit. I did it over a weekend in my spare time and had it finished and tassled almost exactly when the snow started to melt on Monday. But Man! was my neck warm
