Plain socks, detail

Plain socks; travel knitting for October. Yarn in Lime and Violet Intentions, in the "Simplicity" Colorway. (An odd name for yarn this busy, but they are attractive in a stripey way.) This is a closer shot of the Dutch Heel. I love this, because it leaves fewer stitches, resulting in a shorter gusset. I hate knitting sock gussets.

Question by : Why does Yahoo keep listing one of my sock knitting groups as adult only>?
I’m on the Crazy Toes and Heels sock knitting group. Very often I get the box that I have to agree I’m over 18 to use the site. There is nothing inappropriate on this list and it’s a favorite of many followers of the CTHS sock knitting method. It is very frustrating to have this happen so frequently. Who makes the determination to identify it as an “adult only” list? We have many youngsters who are just starting to knit and we don’t want to discourage them before they even get started. Please fix this glitch. Thanks.

Question by Tyler b: Does the amount of pegs on a knitting loon determine how big the sock will be?
I had recently went to a store and i had bought a knifty knitter loom knitter and i want to make some socks. I had gotten the wrong one and i needed 24 pegs and instead i got 12 (on accident) does the amount of pegs determine how wide the mouth of the sock will be?

Question by number8superfan: Do you bind off the cuff of a tube sock before starting the heel and foot part while knitting?
Im learning to knit and the pattern i have doesn’t tell me to bind off but it doesn’t look right so far. I am using regular knitting needles to do this.

Sock

Still skeptical about whether I like tube socks or fitted socks. Have knit and worn both and I’m leaning toward tube. This may be habit as that’s what I’ve worn most of my life.
